Last year at this time, nobody knew (except the terroists) what was about to unfold on The 11th day of September 2001 On 9/11/01, people around the world were shocked to find that a terrible deed had been carried out which cost the lives of so many innocent people. I can remember where I was when i first learned of this event, and I always will remember! I also remember seeing numerous wide body aircraft flying overhead on approach to the airport in St. John's Newfoundland, in a seemingly unending string, heading for an airport not known for being so busy, as it was on this terrible day. The visuals of burning towers, of the horrific destruction as they tumbled into the ground, of people running for their very lives. And then there was the visual of the carnage after, people wandering in disbelief and covered in debris, of crushed emergency vehicles. Too much to comprehend yet knowing it actually had taken place. It has been a year and we don't know what fate awaits us. But I do know that the human spirit is greater than the hate of a few evil people. This was demonstrated after 9/11 and will continue despite the terrorists! To all those who found haven in our beloved Newfoundland, may you continue to have close ties and fond memories. This is one thing the terrorists had not counted on in their dastardly plan and connot ever take away!
