Last evening our family watched a PBS special about the kindness of Canadians, particularly those in the Maritimes, helping passengers and crews of the stranded flights of 9-11. It brought back strong memories of our experience on Delta Flight 37 and in Gambo. Thoughout this year, at first daily and then weekly, recollections of the kindness and generousity of strangers helped me through difficult situations. Today, on the one year anniversary of the tragedies in New York, DC, and Pennsylvania our memories of the people of Gambo are helping us again. My daughter is wearing her "Hare Bay" T-shirt to school for a day that is will focus on the events of 9-11. My wife is also wearing her T-shirt from Newfoundland, and I am wearing my Newfoundland pin to work. A bottle of Screech sits on my desk at home along with my Screechers certificate. The people of Gambo and the Gander region have a permanent place in our hearts. John Eck Cincinnati Ohio & Delta Flight 37
