You cannot imagine how thankful we Americans are to the people of Gander... Your open hearts, homes and willingness to help those Americans who found themselves stranded on September 11, 2001.. I can only hope you all realize our gratitude to you, for allowing a part of the USA to share your community. I live in Alexandria, VA, not far from the Pentagon... we lost 184 people that day... seven were part of a military agency both my husband and I had worked with over the years. Regardless of our location in the USA, we have become united in so many ways... and I can only express my pride in how you, the people of Gander have also proven yourselves to be part of United States by your care, concern and love shown my fellow Americans September 11, 2001.
