Now you all know what I have known for a long time: that Newfoundlanders are about the friendliest and most generous people on the face of the planet.
My mother was born and raised in St. John's, and I have made many trips to the island over the years. I am grateful to the people of my "second home" for showing the hospitality they did to scores of total strangers during the horror of last September 11. I am not surprised, though. This is Newfoundland.
